As a global corporate citizen, Dell Technologies actively manages goals for its environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities across the world, working towards making a positive impact wherever it does business. This includes such activities as protecting human rights, advancing sustainability and managing diversity in its workforce.

Their stakeholders have a vested interest in these activities and the progress being made towards achieving these goals.

For the past 8 years, Dell Technologies has trusted Rebellion Design to help deliver these critical messages to its many important stakeholders through both print and digital media.

Telling the Story of Commitment

Through close partnership and unwavering attention to detail, Rebellion helped transform a complex, data-laden, and business-critical mountain of information into a compelling and accessible story about Dell Technologies’ commitment to people and the planet.

We concepted, designed and implemented an integrated set of communications across a printed annual report and a rich, interactive website. Through a collaborative process, we advised Dell’s team on the best way to organize, structure and communicate dense, technical and sometimes sensitive content. We also helped devise strategies to update content year-to-year while also keeping it fresh and current in dozens of languages

Creating a Flexible Design Language

The key design elements that made the work successful include:

  • Cohesive Concept. A single cohesive concept drove design across digital and print media to give the work a sophisticated continuity and identity. The work highlighted energetic and engaging elements of Dell Technologies’s visual identity system to make the work approachable, accessible, functional, clear and vivid.
  • Engaging Infographics. The work strives to show, rather than tell, through a set of custom-designed infographics that make dense and, at times, dry content attractive and easy to digest. 
  • Wayfinding. Both the print and digital work included wayfinding that helps the reader build a mental model of the content, enabling them to understand and navigate its breadth and depth.

Projecting Global Impact

The 2024 ESG campaign work is the culmination of nearly a decade of collaboration with Dell’s ESG organization, and it puts them in a tier among world-class peers for ESG communications.

The work is part of an effort to integrate ESG principles across the company and innovate in order to streamline Dell’s impact. The results speak for themselves, as Dell has made progress towards its long-term goals. We’re proud of our contribution to this progress.
