Dell Technologies World

The coronavirus pandemic forced a lot of change across the world in 2020, but global business continued and did its best to adapt to travel bans, social distancing, and remote working. This included Dell Technologies postponing their yearly Las Vegas-based Dell Technologies World event from May until October, completely reorganizing the team and technology to support a fully virtual event. They engaged Rebellion to help design the digital experience and ensure a seamless, quality event.

With very tight timelines and shifting event programming, Rebellion Design coordinated closely as part of a cross-functional team including the Dell Technologies events team and numerous vendors, consultants and agencies to plan and execute both a flawless live event and all supporting materials. We co-created a system for pre-event promotion, event livestreaming and concurrent, dynamic content updates requiring tight integration with a 3rd party event management solution and a robust post-event experience.

In addition, the Rebellion team created a separate, exhaustive contingency solution that could deliver an excellent experience should the primary event software fail, as so many other major events have buckled under the pressure of massive online audiences. Thankfully, our backup solution was never used: the event went smoothly for tens of thousands of attendees.

“Our long-term partnership with Rebellion was even more valuable this year than in the past. We needed an honest relationship to help us think beyond our expertise, question our traditional approach and move fast in designing, developing and delivering a high profile and innovative experience.”
